Moreton-in-Marsh lies on the Fosse Way – a Roman road that linked Exeter in Devon to Lincoln and contains some stunning countryside to explore. You can also join the Monarch’s Way which passes almost by Batsford’s door. This 615 mile long footpath is believed to follow the escape route taken by King Charles II in 1651 after his defeat in the Battle of Worcester.
