April

This is the time when our blossom trees come into their own.  The arboretum is filled with clouds of pink in every shade you can think of.  Our Japanese cherry trees are the stars of the show displaying blossoms that range from apple white through pure white to fuchsia pink and every shade in between.

Magnolias are not to be outdone.  These are the extroverts of the garden with their larger than life blooms.  From the star like M. Stellata to the blousy pink M. Veitchii.  There’s a flower for everyone’s taste.

73 species of magnolia quite awe inspiring.

14th - 21st National Cherry Week. Britain's National Collection. The arboretum is awash with colour.
