June
This is a wonderful month for the wild flowers of the arboretum. As a wild garden we encourage as many wild flowers as possible to grow and thrive. Clouds of tiny blue Forget-me-nots mingle with sunny yellow buttercups. Tall spikes of mauve and white foxgloves nod and sway in the breeze and blue Bugles point to the sky.
Look carefully and you may spot the tiny Sweet Violets almost hidden in the grass. Not so difficult to see are the bright yellow Welsh Poppies. These are just a few of the wild delights.
Cultivated blooms also grace the arboretum as you walk. Candelabra Primulas hug the stream and False Solomon’s Seal rests in the dappled shade of the trees.
Wild bugle and buttercups among the trees.
Foxgloves and the evergreen magnolia provide floral interest throughout the summer.
